FALL 2021-2022
(limited spots available)

We know you have faced a number of disruptions in your home and work life. We hope that during this challenging time Bear Creek UMC Preschool and staff will very soon provide the comfort and normalcy you are used to, in otherwise extraordinary times. The very foundation of our school and church community is built on families like yours, who recognize and support the work of our teachers who create loving environments that not only teach, but protect children from the stress of our world right now.  Early learning and child care is crucial in putting the puzzle back together; allowing parents to continue working and focusing on other responsibilities. Children need a safe, familiar and supportive space of their own to fill their days. We are just around the corner from our 2020-20201 school year, and we are here for you and your family!

Our responsibility to families is to implement additional policies and procedures based on recommendations and guidelines set by local health officials, state licensing agencies and the CDC. We are extremely confident in our heightened hygiene procedures, intensified cleaning and disinfection practices and Epidemic/Pandemic (COVID-19) Policies. (attached)

Our commitment to and from teachers and staff remains of utmost importance. Our teachers give so much of themselves every day at school and from home! They continued to work through the closure and beyond. All through March, April and May these wonderful ladies provided on-line teaching to the children and parent support. They created a special end of year “Drive-by” to say goodbye for the summer. Once it was safe, they were allowed back on campus in June to find that time stood still from March 6.  Throughout June, they came in to clean, organize and sanitize. We couldn’t be prouder of our “school family”, they have our full support! We were blessed through resources and grants to pay them for the entire time. Upon returning, we will have enhanced paid sick leave as an additional source of security.

Together as partners, we will move past this trying period in our lives. In the meantime, please draw strength from your devoted community where our school allows your children to continue to grow, learn and thrive. Our combined commitment is more important now than ever before.

Bear Creek UMC School is in an exciting place to be right now!

Recognizing the need for some families to have extended care for their infant through preschool age children, we are excited to offer expanded program options to meet the needs of our growing community for the 2020-2021 school year.

The philosophy of Bear Creek United Methodist Church School incorporates Piagetian principles. The curriculum is thoughtfully selected, skillfully presented and carefully matched to the child’s level. Content is presented in different ways according to each child’s stage of development. A discovery approach to learning is offered and provides opportunities for observation and hands-on experiences. A child learns by doing, by exploring the environment and by using all the senses. Realizing that each child has a unique learning style, the educational goal is to help him/her develop at an optimal rate while nurturing a positive self-concept.

From the Director

My name is Toni Bejko and I am so excited to introduce myself as the director of Bear Creek United Methodist Church School. I am honored to be amongst the extremely faithful and talented staff, which is known for their dedication to early childhood education, but more importantly, to loving and nurturing children. Over the past 30 years, I have worked as a teacher and administrator, but I consider my most important job to be that of a child advocate. I will spend a lot of time with your children, getting to know their personalities, learning styles and interests. I will celebrate their successes, small and large. I will encourage them every day and let them know they are valued and have a special place in our school community.
